The VAT of the Hungarian hotels decreases to 18% from the middle of July, 2009. Another change in the tourism of Hungary is that from the 1st January, 2010. the employers pay 25% tax after the holiday vouchers (üdülési csekk) given to their employees and these vouchers can be used only for holiday services.

Hilton Hotels Corporation has signed a management agreement with Rupphegyi Ingatlanfejleszto Kft to open the new Hilton Residence Buda Hills Budapest in early 2010. The move reflects the ongoing expansion of the hotel group across Europe and will compliment Hilton’s 2 existing Hungarian hotels - Hilton Budapest and Hilton Budapest WestEnd.
